i think our task in life is simply to be the best that we can be, as army oriented as that may seem. they were definitely on to something. Setting your goals and going through with them is really all that we should be focused on when making career path decisions. What makes me happy? If it is rising every morning, placing that new suit on and walking out the house ready to make money and more of it, then what you need is a strategy to accomplish it. If your goal is simply not to be dirt poor and you find complete contentment in a nine to five job at McDonald's, then that is what you should do. No one's version of happiness or success is better than any one else's. It is important to stay focused on your goals and try your hardest not to let any obstacle convince you that you aren't fully competent. YOU ARE. Your biggest enemy is truly yourself. Self- doubt can ultimately lead to self destruction. Once you can visualize your goals, its a given that you can accomplish them. When assessing a myriad of goals however, it is important to remember that goals like working in a fast food chain restaurant will come easier than a landing a position as the CEO of a fortune 500 company. What is key to remember however is -- there is no guarantee that the person with the larger checking account is going to be happier.

Success doesn't equate to happiness for all, sometimes happiness can lie in the most simplistic life consisting of everyday routines. Happiness isn't hard to find, your point is extremely valid in explaining how obtaining that degree of happiness can only be achieved by setting your goals, making them your priorities and taking steps towards making them reality. Each person's happiness is their own responsibility, if they will not rise to the challenge and fight for their happiness, who will?
